"I had a Chicken Fried Steak that was probably the most tender I have ever had — the breading was just perfect. The restaurant was clean and the staff incredibly friendly."

Our Story
The Smith family opened Jerry's Restaurant at its current location on US-190 in 1967, and the family still owns and runs it today. What started as a simple roadside diner for locals and lake visitors has grown into one of the most beloved spots in Polk County — while keeping every recipe exactly as it was.
Every roll is baked fresh. Every pie comes out of the kitchen made from scratch. The catfish is hand-breaded and the chicken fried steak is pounded, breaded, and cooked to order. That hasn't changed in 57 years, and it's not about to.
What We're Known For
Every dish that makes locals drive from Livingston — and tourists plan their whole trip around.
Hand-breaded, golden-crispy, and smothered in white country gravy. The reason people keep coming back.
Every Friday night, fresh catfish fillets fried to perfection. The best deal on Lake Livingston.
Warm, pillowy rolls baked fresh daily. Regulars say they're worth the trip alone.
Buttermilk, lemon meringue, chocolate, coconut, apple, key lime — baked fresh every morning.
Cut thick, battered in-house, and fried crisp. One of the most-ordered starters on the menu.
Topped with grilled mushrooms and onions on sourdough. A fan favorite for over 25 years.
